Weekly Tech - 17th February of 2025
Welcome everyone, hope you're all fine and well?
Well, new week, new weekly tech, like last week, this one is light, I voluntary reduced the scope to make it easier to read between pull requests and to explore links, do not hesitate to gave feedback on the structure of it, time to start.
Database
Let's start with SQLite and its usage on production with terabytes of data, as you will see, the feedback is pretty interesting and you can easily imagine how easy is it to migrate it and maintain it (thanks to the format and fact that you're dealing with a file), you can also find a feedback on how to use SQLite on servers or in a serverless architecture.
Machine learning
Next step, the machine learning, this week, we finally saw Grok 3 being released (in Beta for now) and Figure releasing Helix, their own model built for robots in order to gave them the capacity of "seeing" things and interacting with them.
PHP
Back to the basics with PHP and a feedback on the Symfony certification (a must if you want to prepare it), you can also see that Dagger finally released its official SDK for PHP, last topic is about building a SPA with Symfony and the issues that you can face.
Go / Rust
Last topic is Go with a feedback on how to build a "real-time" batching system (useful in certain type of situation like consuming queues and so on).
That's all for this week, do not hesitate to comment / like if you liked this weekly tech, as always, let's meet next week for a new one (with more content), until then, have a great weekend and a great week.
See you on Friday!
